Info about the Bat boxes

Frequently Asked Questions

    • Mount at least 15 feet high on a south or southeast-facing wall or pole.
Building walls are best, especially in colder or dry areas. If using a pole, consider two boxes back to back for better temperature control.
    • Choose a sunny spot that stays between 80–104°F. Ideal areas: near water sources or where bats have roosted before.
    • Avoid shaded areas or monoculture farms.
  • It’s possible but not recommended. Trees are usually too shady and expose bats to predators. If no wall or pole is available, use the sunniest, most open tree and mount the box at least 20 feet away from branches.

  • Bats can move in quickly, sometimes within a few days if the area is right. On average, it takes 2 to 6 months, but in some cases it may take up to a year or more. If bats already live nearby or others in your area have had success, your chances are better. There’s no need to add anything to attract them, just be patient. With the right setup, they’ll find the bat box on their own.
